Reno SCUM challenge for UWN Tag Titles on March 24

Oi! Oi! Oi! The wait is over and the longest reigning United World Tag Team Champions have returned to active competition. After Adam Thornstowe was sidelined with an injury in late 2018, UWN Executive Nikko Marquez decided to strip the Reno SCUM of their titles for failing to defend within the United Wrestling Network in the stipulated 30 day period. ROCKNES Monsters were crowned the new champions on the landmark 400th episode of Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, but have since let those titles slip through their fingers and into the hands of Double Platinum. Nikko Marquez recently announced that at the March 24th Television Event at the Oceanview Pavilion that Thornstowe and Luster will get their rematch for the United World Tag Team Championship in a Triple Threat Match. It will be Double Platinum versus ROCKNES Monsters versus Reno SCUM. Upon hearing this news, each team had words for their opponents.
“The ROCKNES Monsters have survived heavy fire from all angles and fighting two excellent teams will be no different,” says YUMA while calibrating an unknown intergalactic gadget. “We were robbed of our titles, but justice will be served.” While the “Moon Man” and the “Ace of Space” are confident in their abilities to take on their foes, Double Platinum had less than respectful words towards the longest reigning United World Tag Team Champions.

“Hasn’t anyone told [Reno SCUM] that Punk is dead? We’re the new wave,” boasts Suede Thompson, confident that Double Platinum will retain their championship titles. “We’re only worried about breaking records and holding gold.” UnitedWrestlingTV.com reached out to Reno SCUM to see if they feel that they are at a disadvantage by having to take on two teams for their rematch.

“Double Platinum! ROCKNES Monsters! You will be silenced by the violence!” screamed Luster the Legend. From the sound of it, the former champions are more motivated than ever and nothing or nobody will stand in their way.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s one team, two teams, red teams, blue teams. It don’t matter!” added Adam Thornstowe. “We’re taking our titles back and Reno SCUM will be champions FOREVER. Oi! Oi! Oi!”
Make sure to be at the Oceanview Pavilion on Sunday March 24 as the United Wrestling Network World Tag Team Championship will be on the line as Double Platinum defend against ROCKNES Monsters and Reno SCUM!

2018 PP3 Cup Bearer: Suede Thompson

“When I heard that three count, the only thing that went through my mind was, ‘I did it. I finally did it. No more doubts.’” An extremely proud Suede Thompson has been strutting around Sin City with the PP3 Cup in his grasp. Landing a 450 Splash onto PP3 Finalist Royce Isaacs and scoring a pinfall victory has bigger implications for the “One Man Show” than just winning one Main Event match. Coming out on top in the Percival Pringle III Memorial Cup Tournament is a career-making moment for Suede Thompson and one he doesn’t intend on letting slip through his fingers.

For former PP3 Cup Holders, winning that Tournament has been a launching pad to stardom and, for some, certain gold. In the past, Cup Winners like Ricky Mandel (2014) and YUMA (2015) have elected to use their title opportunity to challenge for and win the Hollywood Heritage Championship. Other Cup Holders like Watts (2016) and Dicky Mayer (2017) have found partners and have gone after the United World Tag Team Championship. 2018 is the first year that the Cup allows the Holder to challenge for any title defended in the United Wrestling Network. That opens up a whole world of possibility for Suede, because if he successfully challenges the right opponent at the right time, he could be on the fast track to title defenses all over the United Wrestling Network and all over the world. With that in mind and United set to crown its first World Champion this year, the “CEO of Suederade” has a lot of options when it comes to his title opportunity. UnitedWrestlingTV.com asked Thompson if he has any United Champions already in mind when the time comes to use Percy’s Privilege.

Nikko Marquez presents the prize to the 2018 PP3 Cup Bearer.

“As far as focusing on one certain title,” says Suede with a contemplative expression, “I’m keeping my options open and will be scouting the very deep talent pool that United has to offer.” Patience is a virtue and one that will hopefully pay off in a big way for the 2018 Cup Bearer. “Top Guy” is no longer just a nickname for Suede Thompson. Fanfare for Suede has been overwhelmingly positive and his victory in the finals of the PP3 Cup Memorial Tournament proves that he is the man to watch in 2018. Everything’s looking up, so turn down for what?!

Reno Scum Defends the United World Tag Team Championship on Feb 25

After ridding the United Wrestling Network of former World Tag Team Champions Pac 3, Luster the Legend and Adam Thornstowe have declared that they will defend their titles anywhere in the world. With a television broadcast emanating from Shanghai, China on the horizon, the men collectively known as Reno Scum are soon to make their promise a reality. But before their flight for the Far East takes off, they must put those titles on the line one more time at Championship Wrestling From Hollywood. But who will step up to challenge the Champs?

CWFH’s Minority Owner Nikko Marquez has been scouting tag teams from across the United Wrestling Network to find a duo that will bring the most exciting fight to television. With touches of “old school” brawling in the repertoire of Reno Scum, Nikko’s task to match that skill set struck an idea in his head to push the matchup forward – or Retro Forward. The team that Nikko has signed for the next World Tag Team Title opportunity is none other than The Office’s own Classic Connection.

Levi Shapiro and Buddy Royal, The Classic Connection.

“Buddy and Levi have been doing a great job representing The Office in their time away from Championship Wrestling From Hollywood,” says a swamped Nikko Marquez. “From what Peter Avalon has told me, Classic Connection has been a pillar of contribution on the Championship Wrestling from Arizona roster. Since synergy is a focus of The Office’s re-org, seeing their attention to making other United promotions function shows me that they are deserving of a title opportunity against Reno Scum.”

The matchmaker has spoken and Classic Connection will challenge the United Wrestling Network World Tag Team Champions Reno Scum on February 25th at the Oceanview Pavilion in Port Hueneme, CA. Don’t miss it!

What is the United Wrestling Network?

There is an adage that says “you couldn’t get wrestling promoters to order a cup of coffee together.” Of the hundreds of wrestling promotions around the world, few are seemingly willing to work together. Championship Wrestling from Hollywood Executive Producer David Marquez is looking to change that by creating the United Wrestling Network.

“What we’ve done is formed a sanctioning body that oversees a number of member promotions,” says Marquez. “The purpose is to bring companies together to exchange talent, create new relationships, and promote championships that can be defended on any of the United-sanctioned events.” The UWN has wasted no time in bringing a variety of promotions into the fold.

“Currently we have about ten promotions making up the United Wrestling Network,” says Marquez. Starting with Championship Wrestling from Hollywood as the initial member, United soon added possibly the polar opposite: Combat Zone Wrestling. With a flair for ultraviolence, CZW occupies a particular space in the wrestling spectrum, as does the next promotion on the list: the party-like Freelance Wrestling. Each of these companies offers a distinct atmosphere for the United Wrestling Network champions to defend their titles.

The newly-crowned United World Tag Team Champions Reno Scum have already dominated competition across the Network. As United Wrestling Network Television Champion, Rocky Romero spent the majority of 2017 defending that title in Japan before losing the championship to Scorpio Sky this past December. Fans should expect to see stars cross over between promotions as well as on United-branded events, such as  “Cavalcade of Champions,” which was hosted by Championship Wrestling From Arizona.  This televised event brought together champions from nearly every member promotion to create a unique showcase of talent that you will only find in the United Wrestling Network.

With new promotions being added all over the world, the United Wrestling Network seeks to expand its reach on the global wrestling landscape in a way that no sanctioning body has done before. Keep your eyes peeled for updates on member companies and upcoming events from the United Wrestling Network.
